Expedited is about the clock, and about the truth

Anyone will say yes to an urgent load. The useful thing is a carrier who runs the math on hours of service and tells you what is actually possible, then hits it.

  • Solo covers about 550 miles a day. One driver, eleven hours of drive time, and real world traffic. Anything past that in a day needs a second driver.
  • Team runs roughly 950 miles a day. Two drivers alternating means the truck keeps moving while one rests. It costs more, and sometimes it is the only way to make the window.
  • Direct, with nothing else on board. No other stops, no cross dock, no consolidation. The truck leaves your dock and goes to the receiver.
  • Updates without you chasing. On an expedited load you get told where the truck is. Chasing a carrier for a location is not a service.
Who this suits

Freight we move on this equipment every week

Production down

Parts, tooling and components when a line has stopped and every hour has a number attached to it.

Missed appointments

A rescheduled delivery that has to make the next window or the whole order is at risk.

Job site deadlines

Materials that have to be on site before a crew arrives, not the afternoon after.

The detail

Specifications and how we run it

The numbers shippers ask for before they book. If your freight sits outside any of these, say so and dispatch will tell you what it needs instead.

Questions

Asked before most bookings

How fast can a truck get to my dock?

It depends on where the nearest available truck is. Call dispatch, give the pickup location and the deadline, and you will get a straight answer including when the answer is no.

What is hot shot trucking?

Smaller urgent freight moved on a heavy duty pickup and trailer rather than a tractor trailer. It suits loads that are too big for a courier and too small or too urgent to wait for a full truck.

Is a team driver worth the cost?

If the load has to cover more than about 550 miles in a day, a team is the only legal way to do it. Below that, a solo driver does the same job for less.

Will you tell me if the deadline is not achievable?

Yes. Hours of service are federal law and no carrier can legally beat them. We would rather lose the load than take it and let you find out at the deadline.

Send the lane, get a number

Pickup, delivery, equipment and the pickup window. Dispatch normally comes back inside the hour with a rate and a realistic transit time.

  • A rate back fast usually inside the hour on a straightforward lane
  • Tracking on every load updates you did not have to chase
